I Think Men Should Start Kissing Womens Hands Again
I agree that a kiss on the hand is the most polite form of affection. We live in a world where sexuality is not about the subtle things, its all about the blatant, hit you on the side of the head with a frying pan messages. Case and point is the clothing that people wear. I am going to use female clothing as my example. Women wear things that would have been considered undergarments in yesteryear. The tights and jeggings are the prime example, yoga pants fit in this category also. These clothes exposed the female form, in some cases literally as dubbed by the colloquialism "camel toe".
I think this is one of the reasons that this went out of style, it was considered to be too old fashioned, and chauvinistic by some I would imagine. Its because it brings back memories, or visions depending on your age, of a time when today we would consider women "oppressed". I don't agree with this at all.
This tradition needs to come back but it must be done under the right circumstances and not done to just any woman. It is a sign of respect for the woman in question by the man and that is not something that should ever be given away for free. Today's society, in my opinion, is completely one sided. It demands that men show respect to women but not the other way around. For examples watch any of the modern television shows a man cannot say anything that might be considered mildly offensive to women but women can hit, make fun of, or do other things that would be considered abuse if the situation was reversed and that is called comedy or entertainment.
Kissing a woman on the hand should be taught to young boys. But part of that lesson should be the caveat that it should only be done on a woman who returns the respect that a man has shown her. That is the one thing I would add to this group is that kissing a woman on the hand should not be given away. For example, when you first meet a woman and kiss her on the hand it can make a good impression. But if the night goes on and the respect seems to be one sided, like she starts talking about how feminism liberated women from male oppression or seems to be domineering the conversation then you shouldn't kiss her hand again. Different men will have different reactions and different things they consider disrespectful.
Sorry if my writing seemed to jump all over the place, writing is not my strongest suit in spite of the fact that I have strong opinions about things. I would like to see this come back into style but I don't think society is ready for it because I think it would be abused.
