I Think More Parents Need to Tell Their Kids No
...And it is YOUR responsibility to raise the next generation of leaders and workforce, so to allow your kids to have everything their little hearts desire shows them that you were not responsible enough to become pregnant to begin with. You are NOT their friend, you are NOT there to be their slave, or to coddle them in any shape or form, they are there to be taught how to be adults. You need to tell them "No." You need to step up, be an adult, and raise them maturely and responsibly, not be their friend and companion. Love them, care for them, yes, but coddle them?? Never; they need to learn things on their own, and so when your precious child(ren) begs for that new iphone, pad, pod, game console, whatever, ask them what they are willing to do in order to earn said item of desire. Are they willing to save money? Take a part-time job? No allowance here, they have to earn this money on their own.
