Nudity Is Not P0rn!

Being part of an online art community, I've gotten to see a lot of wonderfully talented artists and photographers. Many of the artists I most admire work with nudes. The human body really is something so beautiful, with the potential for such expression. It can radiate strength, frailty, love, freedom... almost anything you can imagine. I feel that the bare human body really exposes those expressions so much that it becomes the real meaning of the "naked truth". And it's wonderful to see the body used in ways that aren't pornographic. I just wish everyone knew how to appreciate the body we were born in, uncovered.

Naked is normal, it's just that people who still prefer to wear clothes haven't realised it yet...

To be naked is just that. Why so many people believe that to be naked equals sex, means that those people truly need to get their minds out of the gutter.

Christabel, I couldn't agree more, take a look at my photos should be about 15 public. Hope you folks like them. I'm an artist and collect photos of all categories of nudity. I make no distinctions about what the subject should look like, I have older folks, young, teens, kids, sports, hobbies, musicians, atheletes, the tall, the short, the serious the funny. Nudity is just down right beautiful! Thanks Uriel

well said, nudity is natural. The trouble is there are to many people out there who still link nudity with ****, they are two completley different things.

Society teaches us to hide and cover the body, this develops feelings of anxiety and shame towards the human body in its natural form.

It's true... although I also can see the nudity taboo from an adaptation perspective. When we didn't have temperature control methods, the people who didn't wear clothes were less likely to survive through cold months. So it's only natural that we evolved a taboo for nudity, although now that we can be comfortably naked due to technology it will hopefully become less and less of an issue.

Great story! It is, I think, very unfortunate that nudity is still taboo in many ways. I couldn't agree with you more when you talk about the nude form being able to express almost anything. I think that the strange attitudes our culture has about nudity does more to create damage and strange beliefs about sexuality than it protects anybody.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm an artist and most of the work I appreciate the most is of a naked body... beauty in the truest form...
