What's So Uncool About Being Educated?

I understand that some people are challenged and I don't have a problem with that- it's these teens that have "invented"new ways to spell things that are completely retarted- like "meeh/meah" for me, "dood" for dude, "becuz" for because, "crayz" for crazy, and so on and so forth. What's so uncool about being educated?

Language is about communication, so you *could* argue that the dialect you're speaking of is more effective at communicating something. Maybe it's analogous to non-representational art versus representational art. Or perhaps the intentionally mis-spelled words are more like symbols or icons... which loops back to the "cave art" you mentioned. Hmmmm.

I don't think it's about whats so uncool about being educated.<br />
I have a seventeen year old daughter that text like that to me all the time. I think slang, graffiti and cave art are all ex<x>pressions of "I don't like the way you taught it and I have some ideas of my own on that."<br />

History started us out with words like YHWH that today is spelt Jehovah. <br />
I find the educated uncool when they shorten things like, eg. World Heritage Organization to WHO and then they don't include the meaning of the abbreviation in what it is I am trying to read and learn from.
