Mine Tried To

I went to school in a small southern town, and the teachers were very "old-school". In other words, children should come in, sit down, shut up, and listen. No exchanging of ideas, no learning to work well with others, no inspiring children to think for themselves. It was all about being quiet and taking orders. I don't believe in that kind of education. I think for the most part, schools have changed since I attended, but I still want to someday homeschool my child.

Kids can do that while they home-school. It's a big myth that home-schooled children are shut-ins. A good friend of mine was home-schooled and she had way more friends than I did growing up! lol
