Starting June 1 2007, I'm going to practice celibacy for 90 days. No sex with others. No taking matters into my own hands. (I'm a guy by the way.)

Why am I doing this?

A few weeks ago I was talking with a guy friend about sex and he was telling me how much extra energy he gets when he goes without any kind of sexual activity for 30 days or more.

Extra energy--that is exactly what I want!  I've had a problem with fatigue for awhile now.

Now, I've tried self restraint on previous occasions and to be honest I have never noticed a big enough increase in energy that it seemed worth the sacrifice.  But I never went longer then about 10 days -- maybe 3 weeks once--before giving in to temptation.  So, now I am thinking, maybe I just didn't give chastity a long enough trial.

Some people say that the idea that you can increase your vitality by practicing chastity is bunk.  Other people swear by abstinence as a fountain of youth, creativity, and even spiritual awakening .

I've decided to find out for myself.

Intuitively, 90 days feels like the right amount of time to give chastity a full-and-fair trial, to see what it does for my energy level.  If it works, I may extend the time frame longer.
