**** Outer Space

As a kid, I loved outer space, Star Wars, Star Trek, hoping and praying for the slim chance that microbes would be discovered on Mars or Europa, but now that I've grown up, I've come to the brutal realization that for reasons unknown seems to continue to elude astronomers:

outer space is really stupid.

Not only is it too big - it's just full of nothing.  God I wish I could say it's full of **** - but that would be a compliment.  It's just full of nothing, Jabba the Hutt and Spock do not wait for us just around the galactic corner, it's just us and our bullshit.

Just because we haven't found life yet, doesn't mean we never will. There's a very likely case that there was once life on Mars and even more likely that life exists in Europa.

Even if they don't, once humanity reaches the Star Trek phase of civilization, we'll spread out across the universe to turn that nothing into something!

It is full of nothing, and this is why we’re here. Statistically, in so much nothing, there has to be something...we are that something...but we could just as easily be nothing. In a few billion years, we will join the nothing, just be grateful you had a chance to be something for awhile.

:o ET is up there, lol. I love space and always will.
