I Think That Consumerism Has Consumed Us
Consumerism Warps The Minds Of All. I Wish It Was Not So.

As with any large group thought pattern, anybody who comes in to contact with a set of ideas, is influenced by those ideas.
We are all affected by consumerism, whether it's your friends/ families working extra hours away from home, or the mindless excitement of your peers over the next product which has been marketed expertly towards them or simply the fact that people cannot survive without being linked in to social media.
The original intent of consumerism is to benefit the consumers by providing enjoyment or functionality but to me it seems that very little is bought that people need to function and the things that people buy to enjoy seem to have drifted into a state of necessity rather than enjoyment.
I wish people would find beauty in the simple things rather than always trying to quench their insatiable thirst for pointless distractions to joy in life. The same of course goes for myself, as I have been partially afflicted by this curse, as have all of you.
