The Old Days Are Now

I know that I'm not the first to say that, but really, every generation has seen it's share of good, bad and everything inbetween.  Our minds sort out most of the bad stuff as we age and we're left with this impression of only the good.  Almost every novelist or historian I have read has always said something to the effect that times are hard, work is scarce, people are starving in the streets, the rich get richer, we're turning into only two classes of people, this war has to end.  And yes, all are true to one degree or another, but it applies to hundreds of years ago, today and I'm fairly confident tomorrow.  So grab the good, enjoy it, beware of the negative and deal as best as you can, but stop thinking that the grass really was that much greener "back in the day".  You're living in a fool's paradise if you really believe that.
