This guy Schaffer seems way too prone towards attaching supernatural or"god-effected" qualities on the obviously human/worldly election of Obama as president; for example he writes: "Speaking as a believing Christian I see the hand of a merciful God in Obama's candidacy. The biblical metaphors abound."

Why does he have to attribute Obama's running to "god?" After eight years of a George Bush presidency, isn't it time we had a rational person in the white house? Americans are smart enough to realize that, finally, a little late perhaps; but American citizens supported the Obama's run for president and they elected him. God had nothing to do with it!

I can hear it already: "how do you know god had nothing to do with it?" You know what? I hope you won't bother!
