Here We Go Again . . .

The republicans have just voted down an extension of the payroll tax cuts mainly because they don’t want the top ten percent of earners to pay a fair share. Instead, they proposed a bill that would pay for the tax cuts by slashing 200,000 jobs from the government. This is something the tea party would love to see even though it would hurt 200,000 people all at once. Of course democrats would never vote for such a bill and the republicans knew that going in. Funny thing is that most of the republicans voted down the bill as well. That tells you how ridiculous this bill is.

The bottom line is that the government WILL NOT support the middle class, instead catering to the rich. So, if your not making at least a few million dollars, you’ve been put on notice by congress that they don’t support you, they don’t work for you and they could care less about you.

Now comes an interesting point. When they were debating letting the Bush tax cuts for the rich expire while leaving them in place for the middle class, the republicans called that raising taxes. So essentially, the republicans have decided to raise taxes on the middle class.

Huh, I thought they were against raising taxes. So by their own admission it is now OK to raise taxes so long as it’s only on the middle class. So I would have to wonder. Why would anyone vote for ANY republican in the upcoming elections. From some comments I’ve seen from around the country, it looks like the republicans in one simple move may have just placed a whole ton of votes into the Obama camp that might not have otherwise been there.

The same old arguments just don’t work anymore. It’s time for our government to join the 21st century and stop living in the past. Rather, they should study the past before it’s to late. They should see that they are performing the same old mistakes of before and get busy on what they were elected for. Taking care of ALL the people.

To hell with Grover Norquist! He’s not even an elected official and yet he and his little organization is attempting to hold the country hostage because of his ridiculous tax pledges that the republicans signed. Bottom line is that if they truly cared about doing the job they were elected for instead of worrying about the next election then perhaps they could get off their dead ***** and DO something productive for a change. And that last statement pertains to the democrats as well.

OK porc, first of all I would have to say that if the top earners in the country were paying their fair share then we'd be a lot closer to solvent "entitlements" as you folks like to label them. Soooo, does cutting the taxes on the rich also allow the Chinese to pay for those things? I guess the same argument works here as well.

And it's not so much that we would fight to the death to defend these things. It's more that we paid into a system that was borrowed against until the so called "safety net" was no loner there. Just another method of making the middle class pay the way for the rich. So, as I pointed out before, the republicans have chosen to raise taxes on the people that cannot afford them and have left those who can largely alone.

And let's not forget, there is the federal income tax wich is paid seperately from the SSI and medicaide taxes so I'm not quite sure what your talking about. What's being raised isn't those taxes but rather the line on your pay stub that says, "Federal income tax withheld". There is a distinct difference between the two. Also when it comes time to file the taxes, a huge deduction will no longer be there.

So sorry, I have to say that this is a "federal" income tax increase. The other taxes won't be effected because they never were effected by this tax cut.

Uh, payroll taxes go to pay for social security benefits. Cutting them allows the Chinese to pay our retirees' health and living costs. Is that what you want? Thought social security and medicare are pillars of the social safety net that you'd fight to the death to defend?

well Americans elect is planning on running a candidate it will be interesting to see if and who they run.
Obama is not a sure thing, not yet. Both major parties have seriously dropped the ball.

The tp has just made a complete mess and mockery of any political office. They have indeed showed us all their true goals.

OK willi. I'm done with you. Since you can do nothing but talk BS, I've decided that I don't want you in my posts anymore so POOF! Your blocked and POOF! Your gone!

Oh ande when I went to block you, I saw your profile. Disgusting!

They make a fool of themselves every day. Just keep giving them more rope.

Funny how that goes against what most of the Republicans pledged they would never do with Norquist
