I have been around long enough to have heard this end of the world date set and the day has come and gone a few times in my life and new dates are being introduced to us everyday.

We should really put this to good use and declare a holiday every year. We'll call it "The End of The World Day". Why when end of the world day comes up we can buy each other gifts, have fireworks displays, and have food from all over the world.

After a couple of years when this thing takes off the someone can write an end of the world song.

Ecclesiastes: A wisdom book of the old testiment that declares that live derives joy and meaning not from riches, work or fame, but from the reverence for God and obedience of His commandments.

( I would try re reading Ecc. in complete context of the message) I woul say that when your close to God and your slipping you will know aheadof time that your off the path and your know that going to be corrected with love.

And He said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father put in His own power Acts 1; 7 and many more. KJV

Weeeeellll....technically this person does not seem to believe the world will end in 2012. They seem to believe that it will end on May 21, 2011 when the rapture will allegedly happen according to this uh..."information" they posted here. So since the name of the group is simply "I think the year 2012 will be a joke" which implies, at least at its simplest form, that it is a group for individuals who do not believe the earth will end in 2012 rather than a group that does not believe the world will end anytime soon at all...I suppose I could understand where the confusion was...maybe...

you do realise this group is actually about NOT thinking 2012 is going to be the 'end of the world'? You might want to read a little more carefully next time..

OMG! What a load of bushwah!

I'm sorry, but sincere (and sincerely deluded) people have been buying into this line of stuff for hundreds of years. This idea of the "end of days" is not even a Christian idea! It was created by the Zoroastrians (whose philosophiea were derived from the work of early astronmers and mathematicians) long before Judeo-Christian philosophies were formed.

It, like many other "revelations" in the Bible was part of the cultural soup that bubbled and boiled throughout all the peoples of Mesopotamia and, through them, got transmitted to Europe.

This unfortunate stuff is almost always coincident with justifications for attacks (verbal or physical) on people who are not of the same faith.

Shame on anyone in this age of information who accepts this blindly and helps to spread it. And double shame on anyone who propagates it knowing it is a fraud and uses it for personal gain of any kind.
