This May Not Please Some People But It Is Well Worth the Read.

Robert A.  Hall

 I’ll be 63 soon.  Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce, and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I’ve worked, hard, since I was 18.  Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven’t called in sick in seven or eight years.  I make a good salary, but I didn’t inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am.  Given the economy, there’s no retirement in sight, and I’m tired.  Very tired.

 I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth around” to people who don’t have my work ethic.

 I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.

 I’m tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to “keep people in their homes. ” Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I’m willing to help.  But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the leftwing Congress critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them—with their own money.

 I’m tired of being told how bad America is by leftwing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers.  In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the religious freedom and women’s rights of Saudi Arabia, the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Gay people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela.  Won’t multiculturalism be beautiful?

 I’m tired of being told that Islam is a “Religion of Peace,” when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family “honor;” of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren’t “believers;” of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for “adultery;” of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur’an and Shari’a law tells them to.

 I believe “A man should be judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin. ”

 I’m tired of being told that “race doesn’t matter” in the post-racial world of President Obama, when it’s all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of US Senators from Illinois.

 I think it’s very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation.  I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less in an all-knowing government.

 I’m tired of a news media that thinks Bush’s fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that thinks Obama’s, at triple the cost, were wonderful and deserved.  That thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress, that picked over every line of Bush’s military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his, that slammed Palin with two years as governor for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever.

Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue.  I didn’t vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

 I’m tired of being told that out of “tolerance for other cultures” we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and Madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.

 I’m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.  My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs.  We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live.  Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore’s, and if you’re greener than Gore, you’re green enough.

 I’m tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do.  Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley; grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don’t think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs.  And I’m tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

 I’m tired of illegal aliens being called “undocumented workers,” especially the ones who aren’t working, but are living on welfare or crime. .  What’s next? Calling drug dealers, “Undocumented Pharmacists”?

 And, no, I’m not against Hispanics.  Most of them are Catholic and it’s been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion.  I’m willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person who can speak English, doesn’t have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.  Those are the citizens we need.

 I’m tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military.  They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people then themselves.  Do bad things happen in war? You bet.  Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure.  Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years—and still are? Not even close.

 So here’s the deal.  I’ll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian.

 Then we’ll compare notes.

 British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

 I’m tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption.  Read the papers—bums are bi-partisan.  And I’m tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship.  I live in Illinois , where the “ Illinois Combine” of Democrats and Republicans has worked together harmoniously to loot the public for years.  And I notice that the tax cheats in Obama’s cabinet are bi-partisan as well.

 I’m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught.

 I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

 Speaking of poor, I’m tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor.  The majority of Americans didn’t have that in 1970, but we didn’t know we were “poor. ” The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

 I’m real tired of people who don’t take responsibility for their lives and actions.  I’m tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.

 Yes, I’m damn tired.

 But I’m also glad to be 63.

 Because, mostly, I’m not going to get to see the world these people are making.

 I’m just sorry for my granddaughter.

Well said, sir. Your posting is too intelligent and thoughtful to attack.

WOW! Too bad there is only one of you & not 20 billion i the right positions to change the world!

Though I don't agree with every detail of this, (really not important that I do!) it is incredibly well written, thought provoking and powerful.<br />
<br />
I very much enjoyed this read. I was refreshing.

You have alot of valid points in your post, but what are your ideas on solving these issues???Many of these isses have been going on for along time and most are stimulated by pure greed of the elitist in our soceity....who are so well cushioned against what the average american encounters trying to survive the mounting taxes, job losses to immigrants, poor schooling system, high cost of health care to americans and current economic issues...I do believe that to whom much is given much is expected....but at the same time I believe you should take care of home before those from other nations who are not willing to reciprocate the same benefits....to american citizens.. I mean if there is a country I can enter and receive free healthcare, foodstamps, get a job without speaking the language, and not paying taxes.....pls let me know where it is.....

Sure seems that way Rick. There is hope it seems.<br />
<br />
The idiots who picket the solders funerals have been stopped by groups who crowd the corner before the idiots arrived. The child who flew the flag on his bike was followed to school by hundreds of bikers flying flags of their own. His flag is back on his bike.<br />
We need more intervention such as these examples in the future..

you don't understand emerald.....those rights are for everyone EXCEPT people born here in America. You are not allowed to express your freedoms if you were born here

THere's still "some" hope for the future generation, Blue. I'm appalled by the news stories I'm hearing of kids getting in trouble for wearing shirts with the American flag on them, a kid repremanded for making an Eagle in art and putting In God We Trust over it, another child that brought army soldier replicas for a project, and several other similar incidents. The schools are saying it might offend other cultures. HELLO!!! American soil... you fly the American Flag!! Don't like it... go to the country of your flag choice! Parents are litterally having to FIGHT school boards and committees for their children to stay and not be "opressed" when trying to show their freedoms! But these kids are fighting back, too. They are learning their rights and speaking up! They are back to a time of not just learning our rights and laws through the history books, they are having to learn and LIVE it NOW!!

Glad to see a young person that hasn't been brain washed.

Thank YOU! i finally found a wise man that shared my same feelings!

That might just do it Rick. Good luck with that. : )

might have to find something similar......maybe puppy dogs?

I was wondering why I kept the kid in the hat picture up. Now I know.<br />
Seems like I cause some to get upset just by changing that picture one time. lol<br />
Thanks for the comment Puck.

I really like what this man has to say, and I enjoyed reading the whole thread. It's good to put away the falseness of being politically correct. It's good to have an open dialogue like this, about the problems in the Muslim world. Islamic extremism is a Muslim problem that affects everyone and the more openly and honestly it is addressed the better. I know this is just a small part of what this man had to say, but it is the part that weighs on my heart the most at this time. I feel like a fire is going to come from all the friction. It's already started.<br />
Rick, I'm absolutely sure that Blue didn't get slammed as bad as you because he is a cute kid in a cowboy hat. I'd bet the farm on that.

Education is the key. Do you deny that the above does happen in extreme Muslim civilizations?

The earliest interfaith dialogue between Christians and Muslims occurred near the beginning of Muhammad's prophethood. The Prophet and his companions were greatly oppressed by the polytheists of Makkah. Muhammad sent some of his followers to seek refuge with the Negus of Abyssinia - a righteous and just Christian king. He listened to the Prophet's emissary with great respect and awe, especially the Qur'anic desc<x>ription of Mary and Jesus. This desc<x>ription led the king and his subjects to affirm that this indeed was God's revelation, and gladly grant the Muslims asylum they sought.<br />
<br />
The Prophet recognized Christians as one of the "People of the Book." He treated them with respect and kindness, contracted treaties with the various Christian tribes, and he assured them the freedom to practice their faith and determine their own affairs while living under Islamic law.<br />
<br />
One noteworthy example is when a large delegation of Christians from Najran visited the Prophet in Madinah. He received them with great hospitality, and they stayed at the Prophet's Mosque. When they wanted to leave the Mosque and go outside to perform their church services, the Prophet surprised them by offering the use of his Mosque.<br />
<br />
Although they did not reach an agreement on all matters of faith, they left Madinah with a treaty of peace and cooperation given to them by the Prophet. This, and similar incidents, are the examples for Muslims and Christians to emulate in the pursuit of better interfaith relations.<br />
<br />
The Qur'an states unequivocally:<br />
<br />
"There is no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clearly from falsehood…" (Qur'an 2:256)<br />
<br />
Freedom of conscience is an essential tenant of Islam. Truth can only be seen if it is not clouded by coercion. Protection of the rights of non-Muslims is an intrinsic part of Islamic law. The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said:<br />
<br />
"He who hurts a non-Muslim citizen of a Muslim State - I am his adversary and I shall be his adversary on the Day of Judgment."<br />
<br />
"Beware on the Day of Judgment, I shall, myself, be the accuser against him who wrongs a non-Muslim citizen (of a Muslim State) or Lays on him a responsibility greater than he can bear, or deprives him of anything that belongs to him."<br />
<br />
History provides many examples of Muslims' respect towards other faiths. For instance, prior to the Spanish Inquisition, Jews and Christians lived and prospered in Spain for centuries under Muslim rule. Another well known example is when Omar, the second successor to Prophet Muhammad, entered Jerusalem. He refused to pray inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. He was concerned that some overzealous Muslim in the future might destroy the Church and build a Mosque in his honor.<br />
<br />
According to the Qur'an, men and women are equal before God; both created for the sole purpose of worshipping god through faith and good deeds. <br />
<br />
"O humankind! Be conscious of your Lord Who created you from a single soul, and out of it created its mate, and out of the two spread countless men and women. Be conscious of your Lord through Whom you demand your mutual rights and honor the wombs; God always watches over you." (Qur'an 4:1)<br />
<br />
Islam recognizes women as individuals with specific rights. Among these are: the right to life, the right to learn; the right to earn, own and dispose property; the right to choose a husband; the right, as a wife, to her pre-marriage standard of living; the right to be treated equally; and the right to inherit. Women, like men, are rewarded by God for a righteously led life.<br />
<br />
Muslim women dress in a way that is modest and dignified. The purpose of clothing is not only to protect oneself from physical elements, but also to protect oneself from immorality and pride. Some traditions of dress, and more generally, the treatment of women in some Muslim countries and societies, are often a reflection of culture. This is very often inconsistent and even contrary to Islam teachings. Prophet Muhammad said: "The most perfect in faith among you believers is he who is best in manner and kindest to his wife."<br />
<br />
Its a better place to know about the truth.<br />
I hope you will accept.<br />

Your very welcome Breezeann, I wish it wasn't so long. Most people on EP will skip a story with length to it. Tish is very much with the read.

Dear, you are indeed tired...but guess what ; it will take a ''superman'' not to be...Your perceptions must default for you to be that superman, Default by tuning in to the will of the Almighty...Total submission. Pray you find peace in Allah and extend it to your lovely daughter...Mercy<br />

You are a Marine vet who voted for a draft dodger and a coward over a war hero???<br />
<br />
Cheney dodged the draft 3 times and Bush got daddy to get him out of the war.??<br />
<br />
Condi rice?? she helped start a war with the wrong country, Iraq when it was Iran we wanted. Now we are there forever!! Yes forever we are still in Japan and Germany 60 plus years later.<br />
<br />
Stop watching the draft dodging cowards on Fox and read a book my man. Both parties are corrupt *******. However when the teaparty names that bimbo Palin as there leader they are just as corrupt. <br />
<br />
1 more, all religion is myth and b.s. Stop the madness, and lets stop killing each other for the invisible man hiding in the sky.

Yeah Rick does deserve a hug ladies.<br />
But just a quickie. I am a jealous kind of guy. : )

and you commpletly missed the metephore like some much else <br />
<br />
threads do not turn into "the tulick show) they turn into the TRUTH show or the common sense show or the other side of the story show or the why are you even brining this up show <br />
<br />
because someone has to be a voice of reason or gas bags like this one get what they want and people including you suffer

guess which to fingers im holding up <br />
<br />
and i never said you couldn't say anything and only pointed out the actual reason you were tired <br />
<br />
go figure ;)

but not JUST me <br />
<br />
no one should be made to feel like filth becaause they are on geverment assistance and everyone who agrees with this gas bag is just into making snap judgments about people

...and you see why i disagree and at this point i hope gas bags like him are supporiting me and the goernent benifits i'm forced to live on because they deserve to thinking like that<br />
<br />
copied and pasted directly from your own comment tulick there are several other examples but i'm not trying to slam you here i just wanted to let you know why we think you are talking about yourself

I never said this was about JUST me

does everyone have a reading comptrehension problem ???

That's what I think we have all been saying too Rick.<br />
I was getting pretty confused. I couldn't see anyone attacking her.

i think we have all said that if she really needs the assistance that none of us begrudge her that assistance. the ones we don't like are the ones who can work but refuse to do so and there are a lot of them out there

Who ever is begrudging Tulick, Please stop...

fedupinalabama<br />
<br />
how bout people who have those qualites and it doesn't matter YOU worked because you could- find a job <br />
<br />
i see plenty of people who want to work who can't work because no one will let them <br />
<br />
then we get mad at people who look at that mess, try and then say i'm not playing the game we have generations of people on welfaire and people abusing the system so much because the system is BROKEN <br />
<br />
not just in terms of who we give assistance to but it terms of trying not to need assistance and by agreeing with this moroic gas bag you are saying its OK for employers to say we don't hire men, mothers <br />
<br />
its OK that they judge candidates on the condition of their teeth, their normal way of walking, anynalize thier hand writing and thir phyche <br />
<br />
its ok for interviewrs to ask illegal questions about disability merital status age and leave the candidate in a catch 22 if they don't answer the question they seem stand offish evasive hiding something perhaps if they point out the illegality of the question they are a smart *** if they answer they may well find thereself out of the running <br />
<br />
its OK that employers ***** about college grads and others not ready for work but none of them make interships avaiable <br />
<br />
its OK that job placement agencies know nothing and no one is trained <br />
<br />
its OK that these same places create or utilize trainng programs that employerd don't give a **** about too light on experience ususally that waste peoples time spend their money and still do not yeild a job <br />
<br />
anyone who thinks all thats ok deseerves to be supporting people on gov. assistance <br />
<br />
and all of you who have a job aall of you who have spouces who work stop whining your tax dollars would be going for something else if not this if you can paay your bills every month have a little extra for enjoyment stop whinng and stop begruding me and others who have to have goverment assistance to do the same <br />
<br />
fedupinalabama<br />
<br />
your not tired because you are supportiing too many people on welfare your tired because you had investments in the stock market as well as part of your compaany 401 K i'm guessing one has nothing to do with the other

I agree with you on the immigrant part Eric.<br />
Thanks for the comment

Post script: the illegal immigrant issue is tired. <br />
<br />
Both sides have points, and nobody is right or wrong. I have blood members of my family that are illegal, and contribute more to our society than many lily white folks. Breaking the law by being here? Maybe. Who cares. They do just as much or little as anyone else. <br />
<br />
If they are taking your jobs, then get better at them. Whine about losing jobs to an illiterate, non English speaker does not reflect on you, Whitey. <br />
<br />
The whole thing is just more tired rhetoric from a right-wing fool. Sad, just sad.

That makes me mad as hell.<br />
We work all our lives, and when we need a little help....<br />
We're turned down.<br />
To many ^&*&*(#%^@#%^#%*%^*() living off the government for those supporting such services to ever get anything back. God I dislike our system.

I am late to this story, but...<br />
<br />
Documented: Christians have slaughtered more people in human history in the name of faith than any other religion. So, hush it on that point. <br />
<br />
Race? Why bother talking about it. It is what it is, when it is. Period. <br />
<br />
Other cultures? Saudi's funding this or that with "our" money? PLEASE! They don't get our money if we don't pillage their oil. So, when you want to start walking instead of driving...then you can talk. <br />
<br />
The write of the article is slightly misguided on a point or two.

i got laid off the other week and went in for food stamps (responding to rick) and you know, i had a good reason-i usually work, just need a little help, yada-yada, and they didn't care at all. the second i walked through the door i was scum.

Once again I find myself in complete agreement with Rick on everything he said in his last comment.<br />
<br />
<br />
Thank you fedup for your comments as well.

how bout people like me who did everything as right as they knew how are resposible try do what they can and still got ****** everyone wants to beat up an pewople on assistiace but they never want to beat up the employers who don't hire mothere or hotel places that don't hire men or ones who saay you are over qualifed to pump gas well IF THEY COULD GET A JOB THEY MIGHT NOT BE ON WEFARE <br />
<br />
no one wants to beat up job plaacement agency workers there to help people fill out applications do cover letters work oninterview skillls that don't know anthing about any of it or give horrible info the person then goes and uses it nooone says anything about that <br />
<br />
but the fuckwits continue to be employed and the average person gets nothing <br />
<br />
instant gratification why is that a bad thing and try any gratrification at all and rthe reason peoples retirement is going down the tiolet is because they put it in the stock maket at all

read my story in i don't tollerate bullshit and i walk into interviews just the way you are supposed to not thaat ity does one lick of good becaause no one will hire mw

tulick if you go into job interviews with the same attitude you put forth here it doesn't surprise me at all that employers look for a reason not to hire you. any employer with any concern at all for his employees would be a bit concerned about the anger you put out in this day and age of people walking into the workplace and pulling out a gun. <br />
<br />
as i said earlier i have no college education, i was raised by a mother on welfare and i saw what she went through and rather than accepting that as my plight in life i chose to find a way to better myself and fight to avoid EVER having to take a handout from anyone.<br />
<br />
i'm not saying this is for everyone but i can tell you this right now, if i should ever get to the point in life that i have to apply for welfare, on that day i will die. i simply will not go on welfare, i've seen what it does to people. everyone i have ever known who collected welfare or SSI is a bitter angry person and i have seen why after tagging along with my mother on her monthly trips to report in to the welfare office. it is depressing it is degrading they make you feel like you are less than human.<br />
<br />
i agree with blue 100% i do not bust my *** out here so that the government, which is becoming more and more socialist by the day, can take my money from me and give it to some lazy SOB so they can pay their cable bill!

but oh how quickly you judge who that is <br />
<br />
you shoud read my story in I am a victim and not the least bit ashamed of it<br />
<br />
pay attention to the things in bold caps as well as the last paragraph <br />
<br />
and you know enough about me to know why i say what i say

If it makes you feel any better, I do think there are many who need and deserve assistance from the government.<br />
<br />
I know for a fact that the system is unbelievably taken advantage of. I know for a fact that there are millions getting my tax money who are just to lazy to work.<br />
I truly believe that half if not more of the government supplemented people out there shouldn't in my opinion get a handout. Why should I pay taxes so someone can sit at home and watch Oprah all day while neglecting their kids they had just for the government check.<br />
<br />
I work my *** of for my pay check.<br />
I believe some should be helped.<br />
Only if they can't help themselves.

the people who like this post and who aren't offended are the same people who want to throw people with disaabilities out like garbage <br />
<br />
the people who aren't offened or like this momns comments are the ones who think the same way about people with mental illness as many think about gays <br />
<br />
the people who aren't offended are the ones who aren't just starting out looking for work or come out of college in the last 3 years and finding no opportunites <br />
<br />
the ones who aren't offened have a decent job and aren't working 3 to keep aa crappy apprtment <br />
<br />
the ones who aren't offended are the ones with a decent job or if they are looking have experience enough to get one eventually <br />
<br />
and this ******* has alot of nerve talking about who to call poor when he was a sentor all tvs are color now the ony place you fine black and white in the US is a musium

Most people seem to like this post.<br />
<br />
Be glad your in America. Many countries would just let you fend for yourself.<br />
<br />
There is a silver lining if you only look for one.<br />
I can always find one it seems. : )<br />
<br />
I think 90% of the comments on this story are positive.<br />
I'll go back and check.<br />
<br />
Sorry you are offended.

1 i was talkng to the lady on the opposite page whose maateral is quoated at the top of the commment <br />
<br />
2 i know whose opinios they aare <br />
<br />
3 i must say i thought you had more decency than that or more gumption to post something like this i would have thought better of you than that <br />
<br />
and you see why i disagree and at this point i hope gas bags like him are supporiting me and the goernent benifits i'm forced to live on because they deserve to thinking like that

I'll say it again tulick, These aren't my words.<br />

Nice comment thought TY.

Refreshing,<br />
Thanks for posting.... All too true by the way.<br />
MnM

very ******* awesome. I'm glad I read that.

"Why now must I help others who over-extended themselves by purchasing homes above their means, often 100% financed??? How is it that I, a lowly high school grad, have managed to make it? By working consistantly, not getting involved with b.s., by making prudent choices. So much of what I see and read is backwards these days. Ordinary people are getting tired of supporting greed and laziness."<br />
<br />
how is it that you did that w/ a high school education BECAUSE YOU STARED IN A DIFFERENT TIME WHEN YOU COULD GET A JOB WITH A HS DIPLOMA<br />
<br />
now the BA has become the new highschool diploma <br />
if you can't finish your degree(due largely to running out of money) you are underqualifed for anything that doesn't include pumping gas or flippling burgers aand you are overqualifed for that THEN PEOPLE WONDER WHY YOU ARE ON WELFARE <br />
<br />
GIVE THEM A JOB AND THEY WILL AT LEAST BE ON LESS although you can't function on minimum wage <br />
<br />
YOU didn't have employers judging you on your normal way of walking the condition of your teeth or your glasses YOU didn't have people using behsvioral phycology to try and weed you out regardless of the good qualities put forth or the skills you had <br />
<br />
When YOU were looking for a job there were more internships and apreticehips around and LESS of a need for them as employers would hire persons off the street and then TRAIN them now employers want tro show you the bathroom the break room maybe the passcodes for the door maybe the passwords for the computer and say get to work- even if they hired you w/ no experience <br />
<br />
then they ***** that college kids are unperpaaied for work largely due to no expereince but they do not give interships and even then someone aalways looses out so whaat they are just ****** because there waas no more space <br />
<br />
and before you beat people up for their 100% financed house and their ajustible rate morgage why don't you go after the bank lender who told people when they said they had their eye on X but didn't know if they could afford it and the bank said sure and heres how showing off the adustible rate mortgauge plying down the fact that the rate would go up and how much <br />
<br />
some of these people had their homes a decade before it ajusted at all or quadupled out of their price range but they were suppoed to be clervoyent when they went to someone who was supposed to know better than them when there was a former morgage seller on nightline long before the housing crisis talking about being pressured to make the sale no matter what <br />
<br />
Then when this all comes out we fine out that the real trouble was this **** was traded on the stock market where the people doing so didn't even know what would happen <br />
<br />
Liman brothers or AIG one was found to be fausifying records of potentul borrowers hello join the world the college grad walks into and shut up <br />
<br />
Rick it depends if your sister is on SSI or SSDI if she is on SSDI she can make X amount before her benifits are reduced and she also can mae some money before her SSI is reduced

amen fedup. i too have a high school education and when i decided to become a truckdriver i searched and found a company who trained. <br />
<br />
tulick-i don't think anyone here has said anything about cutting off people who are disabled from receiving any assistance, but many of us are pretty damned sick and tired of paying the way for perfectly healthy people like my useless sister! she has no disability whatsoever but somehow gets money from the government. she recently started working an under the table job and did not report the income to SSI so i did. it amazed me that they didn't even investigate! she is working 6-10 hours a day and making $8 an hour and SSI says that is ok???? that is total bullshit!

Oh and i make no applogies for the life i live the assitance i get or what i do with any extra money i may have <br />
<br />
WHY becaause with the college education along with clerical training i still can't find work the goverment that man is supporting has forced me to live this way and so now i make the best of it <br />
<br />
i live in public housing pay my bills do not smoke drink or do drugs save my money for things i want/ need when and were i can and do the best i can and if that groucchy old faart or any of the rest of you don't like it your welcome to shoot me

i got tired of reading somewhere around paragraaph 10 but i'm TIRED of runnnning out of jobs to apply for before i run out of motivation <br />
<br />
I'm TIRED of being called too lazy and too stupid to earn a paycheck when i look for work as much as i can (would look for more if i could find more listings where i live) and still get nothing woud be more than happy to get a job and work for a living if someone would give me the chance i would even taake a job in a paper hat if my disabled body could stsy on its feet 40 hours a week <br />
<br />
i'm tired of hearing everyone ***** about a sense of entitlement when that sense needs to go up not down because kids who were told by the likes of that 63 year old go to school get an education and you'll go far, have opportunties they come out say i have the ed. now where the F-ck is the opportunity <br />
<br />
when we have people who go to school who still can't get a decent job and then are told they aare over qualilfed to pump gas or flip burgers so what the F-ck are they supposed to do <br />
<br />
where as when he started working someone who wanted a job could get one if you were a hard luck case or down on your luck an employer would condider you first if the qualifications were remotly there<br />
<br />
we hand out so much welfare because employers are let decrimanate aginst people based on the conditon their teeth how they walk one man told his glaasses were too upidy or they use behavriaal psychology to ry and examine haand writing and your psyche <br />
<br />
that is when you can get an interview for the ads in a paper or posted on a site and the contact people don't even know there is an ad you try to follow up and discuss your interest in the position and they do not have time or spout uninellgble giberish or are out on vaction maternity leve you name it (read my story in i don't tollerate bullshit) <br />
<br />
its all well and fine that he complains that people with 2 cars color tv's and air conditioned homes are called poor but he is LUCKY he and his wife can car pool to work 2 cars is what you do do when you can't air conditioning is a health issue as much as heat whether this 63 year old grouch wants to hear it or not and he doesn't know where people got their tv it maay have been a gift gotten used or whatever <br />
<br />
we didn't have all that stuff in 1970 becase you didn't need 3 jobs hints the 2 cars to make ends meet(the cost of living has skyrocketed for the basics) and they gave weather info on the radio as well now tv has the most accurate weather coverage kinda need that unless you want to be taken when the tornado eats your house and now the digtal trnsition is forcing more to get cable for news and wether or do we wan more hericane Kateria like disasters <br />
<br />
do we want our kids to be more stupid than everyone thinks they are because there is nothing on tv including news and the print newspaper is dying<br />
<br />
or the cell phones we all are forced to get becaause there aare no payphones around (like my neighhood laudrymat) this maan has a car- wish i cold afford one or get a job so i could <br />
<br />
Maybe he should have run for office higher than senate or spent some time enforcing the fair hiring practices laws already on the books or fought to stop the fedral mandate to swtich to DTV <br />
<br />
adiction is a dissease and providing treatment programs is the only shot in hell of getting them off their habit and stoping comisson of crime to suppport it many former addicts can go on to lead productive lives to say nothing of the numer of vetrines who have or have had a drug problem to cope with what they saw the number of people who are phycially addited rather than phycholocially due to injury and pain <br />
<br />
many illegal imagents work or look for work here and use a loophole in the tax law to pay into the welfare programs they end up using and crime by illegaal pales in compasrrison to that of our on citzens but this raanting crst bucket doesnt want to hear that nor does he want to hear that those same undocumented workers are resposible for the produce on his plate or in the store he frequents that the ones who are working are doing it for lower wages and doing jobs he wouldn't take <br />
<br />
I'm TRIED of groucgy old gas bags who have no idea what it is really like out there mking comments about when they did bla bla bla

Blue, <br />
I re-read the comments. Thanks. I did make a mistake...I thought that you wrote it.

OMG thats very powerfull I agree the immergrant thing drives me mad I have found that most come simply to work I like in the UK and now we are part of the EU we give benefit and housing to them this i feel is ridiculas and then when I marry my bf I may have to wait years to live with him because of his nationality the law in the UK says your innocent till proven guily so why do immergration say I have to prove I am telling the truth when I tell them I love him as he does me we want to set up a small buisness and have a family thats all I ever dream of and if he was with me he would support me because right now due to illness I am on benefit if he was here I wouldnt claim any more because he would support us.

I agree that true islam does not condone violance. Only the extremists do.

frito. these words belong to Robert A. Hall<br />
<br />
Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts state senate.<br />
<br />
I have said in more than a few comments that I don't necessarily agree with everything he has said here.<br />
<br />
Not sure I disagree either. lol

Blue Georgia, I have to answer this, respectfully. I agree with many of your points...disagree with others.<br />
I just want to add that I believe that the Muslims you speak of are extreme. The true Islam does not condone the violence you mention.<br />
Although I disagree with part of what you've written, This is what America is about Freedom of Speech. And I'm tired of some things too.

I am a fisherman and can deal with worms :)

That was a pleasure to read your comment vtom.<br />
<br />
Go ahead blue... open another one. lol

Thanks for your thoughts vtom.<br />
<br />
There is so much left unsaid because of political correctness.<br />
<br />
I think I am getting a new idea for a story. : )<br />
<br />
Another can of worms maybe?.

I do not worry as much about america as I did. Everytime I think of our "boys" in the places we are doing the jobs they do I am proud and reassured. As long as we continue to produce citizen soldiers that stand up and fight for us I think we are going to be ok. This is because we are americans. This is because we raised them. They are our sons and daughters. They allow us to continue to speak our minds (even those of us who have lost theirs :)) because of their sacrifices. <br />
<br />
The daily conditions and training they put up with are well beyond any "torture" we have done, and I do not condone torture .<br />
<br />
We do need to speak up and make ourselves be heard. Right wrong, we need to let our elected represenatives know our thoughts and desires. Not just the media. <br />
<br />
We have a hard time understanding cultures because they are so different from us. At the end of the day, most people want a better life for their families in whatever culture. <br />
<br />
And then there are the extremists. <br />
<br />
Rick, consider yourself slammed for being ahead of the curve, :) Blue thanks for sharing.

No Attack needed! I agree on most points and do undertand full! Biggie Huggs!!!

I was thinking exactly that after my comment. lol

The truth seems always to be politically incorrect.

To bad that the truth is sometimes politically incorrect huh?

Yes this is awesome. I got this via email a few months ago. <br />
<br />
I like everything that guy had to say.

Bg well said sir .....<br />
<br />
Spoken from the heart , I wont add my list to that of yours for they are the same only British ....<br />
<br />
Be asured sir that a stand beside you ....

Me too Rick. : ) lol<br />
<br />
Me too Weescupcake... : )

Wow I have the same thoughts but could have never put it into writing. I am truly scared about what this world is heading towards.

grrrr! i still don't get why you didn't get slammed like i did for posting this blue LOL

Glad you enjoyed peedee. : )

I really liked this. Thank you for sharing! :-)

God help and bless America.

Amen.

Maybe there is more truth here than we think.

Political correctness has gone to far, I agree.

I couldn't be more eloquent than the author. And I agree with about everything that he wrote.<br />
<br />
People have become afraid to state their opinions (such as those in the posting). Afraid that they will offend someone or that the government will 'notice' them.

Your very welcome. : )

That's powerful stuff, bluegeorgia. Direct and to-the-point, too, which is refreshing -- none of the mincing words or double-speak we've grown so accustomed to. And who cares who it offends? I'm offended every day by people who don't speak their minds. Thanks for sharing this passage. --U.E.

FreeFallWall, I wasn't the one who said this. lol<br />
<br />
I agree with you about the Muslim comments being a bit harsh, if they are false... I am not educated in the Muslim activities or life styles.<br />
<br />
This is simply a quote from a man who has been in our congress for many years.

I think the fact that you are a hardworker at 63 and really tired of the way things are changing must be respected but i think your ideas are sadly deeply rooted in the veitnam war era. I hope for a reply although feeling almost certain that u won't.

I think all the stuff u said about muslims doesn't equate all those incidents to Islam's violence. I think its just lack of education. I mean look at Indians killing their unborn daughters, at Israeli soldiers who kill pregnant women and boast:"Two for 1"

Thanks for the comment...

I agree with everything you said. I wish more people would take the time to read this.

Thanks for your thoughts. : )

i didn't know all that about your presidents, only excuse is i'm in uk and avoid the news! but i did catch some this morning about a few of our mp's being corrupt and claiming false or exaggerated expenses, but i'm cynical now, and thats quite sad to not be surprised at peoples greed! anyway, i enjoyed reading that, thanks Blue!

Great read, Blue.

I may not agree with every word of this, but I do agree with most...

OK people leave Rick alone.... <br />
<br />
Rick and I see eye to eye on many political issues.<br />
It is only fair that you attack us both. : )

wasn't talking about you SCW you were polite made your comment and moved on without attacking me at all and that i have no problem with at all :-)

Awesome. That was very honest and very true. It's about time someone tells it like it is for once instead of trying to agree with everyone else. Great post on the issues America is facing today. I really wonder where this great country will be 20 years from now.

Excellent. Powerful. Well written.<br />
<br />
He has some real concerns for many Americans. i for one agree with him.<br />
<br />
Thanks for posting this one. Thank you very much, i'll share this with others.
