I Think This World Lacks Compassion For Others

As I was coming out of the hospital, I was glad to be through with all that goes into dealing w/ a doctor's visit,tests and what not. As I was walking towards my car I noticed this older lady siting in a wheelchair w/ birthday balloons tied to her stair. She looked so sad that it broke my heart to she so unhappy! I looked into my purse, pulled out a $20.00 bill and went to her. I said,"happy birthday!", gave her a kiss & told her my gift was just for her! Her whole demeanor changed! She brightened up like the sun & smiled SO big & thanked me... That made my day. Why can't we all show some compassion to each other? That would help than just saying,"how sad!"
