SO--To you--It's all about appearances so as to IMPRESS other people?

Nothing about the type of person???

Um, WTF? Being pretty does not make you smell minty-fresh. You can be slovenly, smelly, and unkempt and be very beautiful.

Ugly and overweight people are also perfectly capable of showering, using deodorant, and keeping trim hair and nails.

Being presentable in a business sense does not require attractiveness, although it's an added bonus.

Your last statement is utter foolishness to anyone with the slightest knowledge of history.

"Women are judged entirely too much based on looks alone but who allowed society to take looks to the level of importance they now have? Women."

No, 'fraid that's not true. You see, for millenniums, women have had no power in society except through marriage and through men. Thus, women were forced to compete with each other and make themselves attractive to men... because they were helpless otherwise. Who decided what men found attractive? Men.
