There is nothing wrong with arguing as long as the other person can put there two cents in without being interrupted.! Let the games begin.

It's true there are times we all do it. We just have to be aware of our feelings, listen to them, try to calm ourselves and treat the other person with respect and calmness instead of losing our temper. It does take effort but it is really worth it :) No high blood pressure eh? lolol :)

Thanks jimmyrudyjump, it's so difficult to translate a poem and it always makes my stomach cringe in pain, that it doesn't rhyme afterwards.

"hat das Schweigen bessre statt" should be translated as "has silence a better place" or "silence has a better place"...

    Wo das reden doch nichtfruchtet

    hat das Schweigen bessre statt

    besser das man nichts geredet

    als umsonst geredet hat.

    Where talk is fruitless,

    silence has a better place

    Better we talked nothing,

    than having talked for nought

    That's how I would translate it : )

    ...hummm..then it should be:

where talking is of no avail

    Instead keep silent

better not to have talked at all

than to have talked in vain

PS I won't mind/ I'd be glad if you correct my mistakes, because English isn't my mother tongue!

    Hope that helped ;)

    I struggle hard every time.

There is a good saying by Friedrich, Freiherr von Logau:

Wo das reden doch nicht fruchtet

    hat das Schweigen bessre statt

    besser das man nichts geredet

    als umsonst geredet hat.

were talking is of no avail

    keep silence instead of

better not to have talked at all

than to have talked in vain

PS I'm very glad when you correct my failures, because English isn't my mother tongue!

Yes there are some people that before they even open their mouths you want to argue with them...so I mainly let it in one ear and out the other!

That's a good question. I have a ss who is a fool, Most of the time, I can stop myself arguing with her.

I said, most of the time... :-D
