I Try to Be Kind to Everyone
I believe in kindness. It's really hard in today's fast paced world to make sure we take the time to be kind.
The cashier at WalMart is a person. They didn't program the computer that rang your 5 pack of white t-shirts up incorrectly. There's no need to talk to them like an inanimate object or a dog that crapped the carpet over it.
The new kid at work that made a big mistake took the job because he needs the money. It's hard to find a job when you're 19 and had trouble just getting through high school. Ripping him a new one in front of the entire department probably won't improve his performance much.
That elderly man or lady in the mall parking lot that looks confused and lost may need some help finding their car.
The little boy crying on the airplane may be scared or hurting. Does scowling at his frantic mommy help the situation in any way at all?
Be kind to a stranger today. Find an opportunity to make someone you never met before and likely will never see again smile. Being nice is easy. It's free. It's priceless. Try it. The smile and warmth you get in return will make your day better and the world just a little better a place.
