Yes, I Do Often!

I'm a pretty open person about myself, my past, and my present. So, it only makes sense that I also have an open mind. But, honestly, for so long... I hated the term, "open mind!" Because the "friends" around me use to abuse that term. Whenever I didn't go along with everything they wanted, then suddenly, "You need an open mind!" or "You're very closed minded." This is when I refused to smoke pot, or go somewhere dangerous when I was underage (like a bar or dance club), or have sex as a teen. And when I got to be an adult, it was because I wasn't interested in pot or sex orgies. :-/

But, I do know what being "open minded" means! It's true meaning is, being able to accept that others may feel differently than you. They may have different views, different beliefs, different tastes, and different lifestyles. The person with the open mind will always say, "Well, that's cool." and move on. :-)

Also, it means to have the mind to listen and try different things that speak to YOU in life... not what everyone else says you should like and do, but things that grab your interest and curiosity. This is what I believe it to be, anyways. ;-)

You go girl to thy own self be true,,,loving you mary

stand up for what you believe in. don't ever cave into doing something you're not interested in or you think is wrong. your friends can do what ever they like, they shouldn't pressure you into doing the same things as they do. stay strong and you'll become the person you want to be. it doesn't seem like you have any troubles with standing up for yourself so all the best!
