I Use Book Aid

Book Aid is a website where you can find books which address issues in your life. This might be as direct as a Teach Yourself book or less obviously as literature which explored the area you are struggling with. Like a library that sorts books out in a different way than alphabetically.

An example might be:

The opening sentence of Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is famous in English:
"When Gregor Samsa woke up one morning from uneasy dreams, he found himself changed in his bed into a monstrous insect."
This of course is a metaphor to explore alienation from your own body.
Literature is Art which is the exploration of what it is to be human.

Metamorphosis might be useful for someone to read with bdd (Body Dysmorphic Disorder).

or Dylan Thomas might be good to read when confronting mortality:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Dylan Thomas, 1951 or 1952

Please add books and explain what they can be used for!
