ESL Grammar Teacher

This sounds odd, but I teach grammar. I have been an ESL teacher for the last 7 years and a HUGE part of that is grammar. In class I can do everything ok, and explain the different between an adjective and a past participle.

But you take me out of the classroom and all of a sudden, I can't speak English good no more. I make up words like hippototamus, and elelelphunt. Instead of asking which number bus we need, I'll ask which flavor bus we need....At first people are weirded out....but eventually they learn to understand it and while they never learn to speak it, can at least interact with me appropriate to what my topic is.

Great stuff! I give a first impression of being a flawless, smooth, factual, robotic, incredibly efficient individual without even trying, then the 'has'es becomes the 'have's in the most elementary embarrassing (oh the spelling!) situation/s and a golden moment/s turn/s rather odd because people's perception/s is/are/shouldn't be a strongly confirmed "dissappointed false credibility"... yes, he's a bullshitter.<br />

I'm far too imagination driven to even be bothered by people's perceptions of me - first, last or lasting... and far too busy at creating thoughts!

Sadly I understand you completely. lol
