I Use Music As Therapy For the Soul
In the most stressful moments of my life, there have been two pieces of music which have preserved me.
The first has been Bach's Air from his Third Orchestral Suite. The version which has comforted me most has been the minimalist jazz performance by the Klazz Brothers. This was the version used in the Jamie Foxx/Tom Cruise movie Collateral.
The second piece is the mid-16th Century motet by the English choir composer Thomas Tallis entitled Spem in Alium, his most famous work.
When you have nowhere to turn and nothing reduces the pressure - consider these. Anesthetic and palliative they may be - but if they work, then so what?
