Yeah, I Was Creepy. . .

It took a bit of time before I got he hang of the whole "making new friends at a new school" thing. Thus my awkwardness begun at a young age, when we moved several times a year. I only had one imaginary friend, and his name was Mousey. It started off with this pencil top my mom brought home from work one day. My mom is terrified of mice and her coworkers thought it would be funny to give her a pencil top of this cute mouse from some new cartoon show about hamsters (?). When she came home, she tried to make light of it with us, so she put it in her finger, called it Mousey and tickled me and my brother. She had no idea how much this screwed me up. After that day, I became infatuated with this rubber mouse on her finger, constantly begging her to put it on, make Mousey talk to me, and make Mousey play with me. The first week it was thought of as cute and funny. By the end of the month it was met with annoyed grunts and sighs. And after six months, my mom had had enough. she told me that Mousey had been stolen, kidnapped, and I would probably never, ever see him again. Well, through her description, I became extremely sad. . . . for about two days. Then I decided that Mousey was not dead. He was just different. So I told my mom that Mousey was still there on her finger, just without his face. This is awkward and quite weird, I know. But for about another 2 year I still asked my mom for Mousey. She tried many times to make me stop, refusing to play along, making up elbaorate stories about why Mousey couldn't play, the whole shebang. But I was convinced Mousey was my only friend. They even have video tapes of my mom trying to convince me Mousey had "moved" to my finger, and that her finger was just a finger again. But with attitude only eight-year-olds can pull off, I jutted one hip to the side and said very slowly "No,mom. This is not Mousey, that is Mousey. This is just my finger. You're so weird." and walked out of the room.

Yeah, I was truly a odd little thing. . .
