Pray For Our Fallen Brothers

A personal story in the experience: I Used To Live In Ft Hood
I had the great honor......Of being stationed in the 2nd Armored Division....at Fort Hood Texas......When there was a 2nd Armored Division that is....Way back in 79...

Yes....it was...and still is a big place...But hey...every Texan says that everything is bigger in Texas...But I digress...

With each and every event that I have heard about things happening at Hood...I have done one of two things....I have either stood proud for my brothers.....Or I have hung my head and cried for them....For I have found one thing.....I can not tell you what it is about Hood.....But once you have been stationed there.....It is always a part of you...

I stood and saluted all of my brothers that went to do what their country asked of them....and still do with each and every deployment...

and I morned the loss of my Division.....one that General Patton started in WW2....the War to end all wars when it was decommissioned.....My history was gone

But in the past 30 years....I have turned on the telly...and was shocked with the news.....

In the 80's...my Commanding Gene rial.....Gen. Doty was kidnapped....that blew my mind...and I wish that I could have done something to defend him...

and then there was the guy...that rammed his car through a wall of a Cafe...wanting to as many lives as he could......and I wished that I was there...

And now.....with this....a man......who's job it was to help our brave men and women to cope with what they had to do......a man...who was such a coward.....who did not want to fight....(but never would have fought as he was a Dr.)...a man...who took an oath to" Do no harm"......a man who was too much a coward to just opt out of the military....(Officers can do that after 6 years)....a man who had gone up the ranks to become a Major...Had the audacity...

To take up arms....and shoot over 30 people....

and now...People are saying to Give him the benefit of the dought.......and Obama is telling us not to rush to judgment.....I mean....really....He did not give the benefit of the dought when a White Cop arrested one of his friends.....But hey...This shooter......This Murderer of over 30 Soldiers...Well he was not white was he......He was not a Christian...He was Muslim....so I guess that gives him more reason right...That we must give him the benefit of the doughty.....

Well there is one thing that I can hold on too....That the Military Does have the Death penalty....And that when this man is found guilty...My a Military Tribunal...for it was on a military post....by a military person....to military personnel......That this man...will Die for his crimes.......and the world will be a better place when he is not breathing the same air that my brave Brothers and Sisters are....

Sorry if this sounds harsh.....But it is just the way that this old Soldier feels....

Yes......I could have been there.....and with all of the things that have happened since I got out......I wish that I was there each and every time

i understand your depth of feeling about what was done by that major. i agree with u--'benefit of the doubt' is to lightweight of a term to apply here.

that said--this is a major--who killed his own. i smell something WRONG somewhere, something BIG. something at the root of this heinous act besides what we have heard. something so HUGE that it cannot pertain to only one man--but his action was a direct result of whatever this is. its nothing lightweight or penny-ante, thats for sure, and nothing that will be solved with one man's execution.
