And Then Again...

I wrote this during a particularly confusing and painful time in my marriage was extremely wounded and slowly bleeding to death. It was 10 April 1988.

A lie can sometimes be so true

A happy song can become blue

A vow can break and never mend

A style will change with every trend

A sensible one will make no sense

A relaxed moment can be tense

A story can end and just begin

A righteous one can always sin

A poem can end without a rhyme

A rhythm will beat and lose its time

A man will love and also hate

A woman accepts it as her fate

fortunately I am happily re-married, that first marriage did not survive the mortal wound and did completely bleed to death. I have not written any poetry in years.

Your poem spoke directly to my own recent experience as well. It was a comfort somehow to see that I am not alone in this experience and to see my emotions expressed in such an eloquent way!

& its good. very good.
