i believe that if we didn't care about the person, it would not hurt. This makes it hard for me to let someone in.

Been there done that too many times to count. I am one of the most forgiving people on the planet, but when your SO continually hurts you over and over, without ever apologizing or acknowledging the damage done, it will kill the love. I used to think I married my soulmate, but these past 5 years have really put that to the test. I am trapped in a marriage that I can't get out of right now. And the damage is too great to repair.

Find a way to get out. You only live one life. Don't spend it miserable.

It is a horrible feeling but it is through this pain that one can truly appreciate love and care...

Pain is there for a reason. The fact that you're hurting means that you cared in the first place. That in itself is a wonderful thing and I believe thats what makes us human. Forgivness should be given before its asked. Its not something that we do for others, its something that we do for ourselves. It helps us heal faster. As far as leaving them is concerned, you need to assess whether they're worth the trouble, worth the time, worth the hurt, worth fighting for and most importantly, whether they are worthy of being with you. I hope I have helped you, even if its just a little. <3

I don't think you could have spared yourself the hurt. Usually hurt is necessary somehow for human to grow and evolve into something better. What I can say is that luckily the world gives many turns, you never know maybe at one point it will be you hurting someone else without even wishing to.

That's true. We have to feel hurt to really know joy. I try to use my hurt to grow as a person, Sometimes it takes time to heal.
