I Walk My Own Path
For each of us, to get where we are, in any given moment, takes tremendous effort. Recognizing toxic flaws and trying to change them, is a good thing. However, regardless of how flawed, the person you are right now, today, is amazing. You have faced and conquered many things in your life and will continue to do so. When something new rises up and challenges you, simply look it head on and scoff because you’ve been “there” already and risen triumphant.
No one knows the road you have traveled to get here – the hell you have been through. So, you have your own unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge, which is incredibly valuable to you and others. Living a good life, the best you can, doing no harm to others, is a commendable position – one which you should feel honorable to lead. Love yourself and lift yourself.
Never judge your worth based on the opinions of others – they can never know you, truly, or even begin to understand. Look at yourself and recognize what you see for who you are. Only you are responsible for finding a way to stand again, each time you are knocked down. And, you will be – many times throughout your life. If you are fortunate, someone may take your hand and help you but that is a luxury and one you cannot depend on. The only person you can ever depend on is yourself. Given that, don’t you dare betray yourself by giving up now – after all that you’ve already been through.
You will love and be loved in this life. You will hurt and be hurt. You will fall and you will make mistakes, but we all will. In life only two things matter: consequences, and how you make amends. Intending to do the right thing, or say the right thing, has no bearing on reality whatsoever. The only consolation it gives is in knowing, for ourselves, that we tried to do the right thing. It does not excuse us from seeking forgiveness, where appropriate.
Walk your own path. Trust yourself. Care for yourself. Because you are deserving, because others love you, and we feel pain when you do. Sincerely. Let yourself freely give and accept affection. Make the world a better place. Love.
