God Doesn't Give You More Than You Can Handle ?

Our family is just getting hit by everthing lately, death, illness, incarceration, abusive people etc. We stick together , love and support each other . These things happening are to some really nice people that i just don't understand. One survived a car accident that changed her life only to have been diagnosed with a very agressive form of breast cancer,2 babies whose mother died unexpectedly at 30 yrs. of age, a wonderful man incarcerrated for a crime someone else was proven to commit, headaches for another ... possible brain cancer a person who is so kind and loving, these are just some of the situations occuring. Why , when there are so many people that are down right evil out there i just don't get it !! We all keep going ,loving the moments together, crying and fighting when we need to. We have always had the ability to make each other smile even in the darkest times,How many times must our strenghth be tested , i really have not been able to answer that , lord knows this isn't the first time and probably not the last.

What the heck are you doing up so late...

Thank you Wraither

Some people are just victims of bad luck. It's tough but you got to stick with it always. Need to believe that peace, love and prosperity in life is worth the struggle. I wish you and your loved ones all the best.

Bless you. When I got hit with Manic Depression I cursed God and said, "Why me?" I thought, "I'm not so bad, what did I do to deserve this nightmare?" Only much, much later did I learn that the answer to the question, "Why me?" is "Why not?"<br />

And girl that can play Purple Haze with a marble in her nose is going to be just fine, come h*ll or highwater!

True.

That phrase is a pet peeve of mine. You hear it a lot in AA, and I flag people on it because it's nonsense. God gives lots of people more than they can handle - they die - then they're not around to point out that sometimes God give people more than they can handle. Life is not a fr*gg*n meritocracy. We are all blessed and fortunate each time the sun rises. Horrible things happen to good people and vice versa. If you assume nothing, if you come to believe that your life itself is a miraculous gift, then hardship - even illness and death will not seem so foreign and unjust. I do not believe that God has a balance sheet which he reads each day, ie.: "El Lagarto has been bad so I will give him a monster for a father and kill his mother slowly and then make him Manic Depressive and Alcoholic, that will show him!" Life includes rain, the rain falls equally on the just and the unjust.
