I Want a Mentor

I want and need a mentor...Someone with extensive wisdom and knowledge to guide me through as to what I should or can do to better myself and my life and how to do this.It seems like the right idea to have a mentor who foresees things in ways we just can't when we need to make an important decision or when we have to weigh our options in order to head in the right direction. Or someone who will nurture and encourage my creative side, my hopes, dreams and ambitions for the future I have always longed for.

Hi, Berrychic. It's been a long time since you wrote this, and I was wondering how your quest has gone?

Though I wouldn't say I've ever had an actual mentor, I've often sought advice, as well, from those around me in positions of authority, i.e. teachers, university professors, older relatives and friends, etc. Funny thing, though, was in my last couple semesters of university, I suddenly found myself in the mentoring role, which felt a bit weird since I don't consider myself much of a leader. Have you found this too, that younger women sometimes ask look at you as a role model?

I think having a mentor is a positive move, and I hope you have or will be able to find one that suits you well.

  Well no I still haven't found a mentor but I did have one at a job I had a few years back but it was only for work purposes. He was a good guy and all but he was too busy to even see me in person most of the time for the work we were assigned to do together so that wasn't how I dreamed it to be. I'm looking for someone to help me in all aspects of life-someone to pull me out of my miserable life and shake me down.Show me that my existence matters and that I deserve much more than I have settled for. : {

hope,you find your mentor,I wish I had one too someone older than me and wiser,that could give me good advice on many things.I think the closest thing I can think of is a life coach,not sure if you've heard of them or not.

I don't know about mentor, but I'm happy for you to bounce things off me. You can check my profile and stories and see whether you think i've anything of value for you. My qualifications are that I'm covered in bruises, but each one taught me something eventually. Going, going...

  You sound wise and very kind.Thank you for the offer and like I have mentioned before I need someone close by-it's just the way I am when I communicate sensitive issues.I have to see them in person.I sincerely appreciate your offer to help. : )

I had a mentor she was a 90 year old Puerto Rican lady. Her wisdom was hard won but she never lost youth in thought. She died this summer but her words are in my heart.
