I Want a Mentor

Yeah, A Mentor Would Be Nice

I'm a Christian struggling with all kinds of issues (plus being impacted by the issues others struggle with on top of that). My friend and I have been talking about the need for a mature Christian (godly, not controlling or manipulative) mentor for a while, but especially last night. I came here today and saw this group and heard that this month is a national mentors' month (something like that). My friend and I talked about it into the New Year (we talked for over four hours straight), so maybe I was meant to find this group. Life and the Christian life has been hard and confusing without a mentor. I hope I can connect with at least some people who are in the same boat and feel the same way. So, my friend and I can at least acknowledge our need for help. So few mentors (at least godly and non-controlling ones) out there it seems.

Oh, and forgive the name all you other Christians out there. In my heart, I really am a Christian, but the sentiment is also in all sincerity :)

    Thanks, Gardner. And thanks, Twittl. That's encouraging. One of the promises I hold to is this one: "God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity" (Ps. 68:6). It's a blessing that you have/had that couple to mentor you. I haven't had a mentor but know that when it's a good mentor, it can be a tremendous blessing.

    This is a good thing. I'm not sure what you are struggling with but I do know that when you are struggling you are witnessing a great opportunity for growth.
