Just For The Pain?

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo just for the pain. I used to cut myself but now my therapist has this rule that if I cut myself he stops my therapy for some weeks (no, it's a form of "punishment" that works fine for me, really). Still I get this urge to cut and I think about having a tattoo on the inside of my arm to feel pain there again.

So, does this mean you have stopped "cutting"? I hope you have found someone to talk to, its not heathly but I'm sure you already know that. Maybe you should get a word or phrase something meaningful in the area you used to cut. This way when you have that urge you can see that you have the strength to overcome your demons. Good luck!

i don't believe a tattoo's purpose is to fulfill a yurning for pain. people usually get tattoos to represent special moments or people in their lives, or even decorative purposes. usually, tattoos are there to represent something positive. cuting yourself is negative, wanting to feel pain is negative, getting a tattoo for the purpose pain is negative. for you, getting a tattoo in this time in your life may not be such a good idea. would be like giving a wine cooler to someone who is trying to recover from alcoholism. the road ahead msy be difficult, but stay strong.
