...Because it would be the first step on the long road to forgiveness that would ensure a more peaceful America. I would love for the President to personally apologize for the many crimes against the Native American tribes, including the breaking of the Fort Laramie Treaty, and the Trail Of Tears. The tribes need to be given their rightful lands returned to them, and for everyone to finally honor them as they deserve to be honored.

    I feel the same way. I have been waiting for ANY president to apologies for all the atrocities....I am like 1/8 indian, and I still don't think that matters. ANYONE in my opinion, should want an apology. I mean what we did to the native americans, was horrible. In my opinion, it ruined our reputation. I would even go as far to say we should give the country back to them...........but thats another matter.

      I would think that a responsible President who cared about all of hisher citizens would give an apology from all of America for all of the attrocities committed against the tribes.
