I L O V E H O R S E S

There is an affinity
Twixt humans and a HORSE
That borders on divinity
You worship them ?  of course !

Horses are important
In the affairs of Men
We choose them
And we use them
But never would abuse them
Then we sell them on again !

GYPSY COB - APPLEBY HORSE FAIR 2011

An animal most versatile the HORSE
He can serve you in so many different ways
He can pull and he can carry
A bridal coach for when you marry
(will it be Tom **** or Harry ??)
And your horse will really love you - all your days !

WEDDING COACH - WILLIAM & KATE

My Kingdom for a Horse
In despair cried out the King
I'll never get there in this state
I'm not know for being late
The'll have my head served on a plate
A horse for all my bling !

Punters gamble - Horses race
So always pick your Horse with care
Horses put you in your place
Please observe which way he goes
When more popular he grows
Back each way  NOT  on the nose
First past the winning post  "MON COEUR"

BALLABRIGGS (LEFT) CLEARS BECHERS BROOK
 WORTHY  -  GRAND NATIONAL WINNER - 20I2

A LOVELY QUAGGA - RELATED TO THE HORSE & THE ZEBRA. IT IS AN AFRICAN ANIMAL AND IS NOW EXTINCT THE LAST ONE WAS SHOT IN NAMIBIA  IN 1875.  DNA HAS BEEN EXTRACTED FROM STUFFED SPECIMENS AND BIOLOGISTS ARE ATTEMPTING TO CLONE ONE - WATCH THIS SPACE !  This addition is especially for Doggies Choice who enquired about QUAGGA's !

As through the African bush you stagger
A "Horselike Zebra" might just past you stagger
Please hesitate to use your dagger
It might be the long lost QUAGGA QUAGGA
If you're on a 4X bender in the outback
You might bump into one in WAGGA WAGGA
But if you look more closely in the daylight
You'll see it's not a horse it's just MISS GAGGA

KINGS RIDE ON WHITE HORSES
EMPERORS RIDE ON BLACK
BUT WHO IS THIS COMES RIDING OUT ?

HOSANNA HEAR THE PEOPLE SHOUT
A DONKEY ???? YES WITHOUT A DOUBT
SERENELY TROTS - WITH JESUS ON HIS BACK !

DEDICATED TO ALL WHO LOVE DONKEYS & HORSES !

love kate and william.... i have a few dishes from england with the queen face on it ... from years ago .....

How about quagga ? I think they belong to horse family.

Great pics and poem. I love Clydesdales myself...magnificent creatures.

I owned horses for twenty years...beautiful, faithful and oh, so graceful...Grace is always a good thing and I find your writing to be quite graceful. Thanks again for the memories you invoked with this piece....Caithness

Nicely done! You seem to know horses well...
