The Subsitution

It was nice to know you
We started off nice and slow
Then I knew something was wrong
And I finally knew what it was

Well I was always your substitution
I was always put in others places
I happened to be the rebound
Until one day I cracked

I never knew it would happen
It came out all the sudden
I don’t understand how
But I exploded

I was just the catch and release
You made it look like fishing
You’d capture me
Only to throw me back again

I was there and back again
Nobody knew how I could do it
I didn’t know myself
I guess I was always caught
Caught in a trap

I followed you through the streams
Through the thick and the thin
Never knowing what I was into
Until you killed me

You’ve never heard it before
You never cared how I felt
Until I combusted in anger
And ended what you were

Who actually knew what happened
I guess I can say I did
And I guess it was truly worth it on your part
When you found out what it was like
To be caught in your own trap

Never to be freed again
You’ve never heard it before
You never cared how I felt
Until I combusted in anger
And needed what you were
What you were
Whoever you were

nice one. The poem is simply perfect in the show of imagery which is used to convey the writers emotion. Thumbs up!

Thanks!
