I Want People to Share Their Poetry
I fell so har- no. I tripped while running full speed right into this. This. This beautiful mess. But you see I was actually running, bolting away from him. He left and I couldn't escape those feelings, you know? The emotions that operate your every nightmare. The ones that quietly linger in the back of your mind until you're submersed in sleep. It was Fight or Flight and I don't have a strong enough punch to fend away my every thought. My uppercut needs work. So I ran.
That's why I stumbled right into this....This. You. I tripped right into you. Don't you see? I was escaping, constantly looking back to see if my worst fears had ceased their biting at my heels; I wasn't paying attention. I hadn't noticed you slowly stepping out into the route I had chosen, hesitantly placing yourself along my destructive path. Why in the world didn't you get out of the way? Don't you see...
You walked right into this too. This....this mesmeric misadventure. This comfortable catastrophe. I remember looking ahead for a split second and seeing you far off in the remoteness of my future, closing the gap between us that time and distance had so casually created. I never forced you there, remember? I never knew such confusion existed until we coexisted in the same place for that split second as I fell into this with you. This.
So please, before you question This...remember that you wanted it too.
