Posted Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:50PM I quit smoking 02/18/2007 and I feel terrific! Some things I did: 1. Chantix: A fairly new smoking cessation drug available by prescription. Blocks the receptor site that wants nicotine. Wonderful drug! 2. Joined a smoking cessation message board. Killed a lot of time and met wonderful people. Couldn't have doneit without them. 3. Drank lots and lots of ice water and sucked on cinnamon sticks. 4. Wrote a "good-bye" letter to cigarettes. 5. Envisioned myself as a nonsmoker. 6. Kept remembering what the early days of quitting were like. Even with Chantix and support I don't want to go through that again. 7. Told only people who would be supportive. Some of my co-workers probably would have wanted to sabotage me. They were kept out of my loop. | |
