“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

That's why I ride a motorcycle.

yes! Thank you for sharing this... words of wisdom!!!!

We fight change with every part of our being. Tooth and nail we claw at it to maintain the status quo. Rather we should stand on the precipice of our society and look back to our ancestors and see how we came to be. Ours is a story of order overcoming chaos, the wild succumbing to civilization, a fight against the environments of nature for the evolving ways of man. It's not a story of progress for that implies one is superior. However the culture of humankind isn't the trappings of civilization. It's striving to overcome nature and out own limits in an ever changing world. The fight against change is the struggle of humankind. Without it we are little more then cattle in a coral we ourselves made. Embrace the wild to learn what it truly means to be human.
