    My mum's homemade tomato - nothing beats it! No matter how bad life gets or what happens, a bowl of that will always cheer me up.

    My favorite soups are....

    (1)--Vegetable soup with the little alphabet noodles in it.

    (2)--Cheddar and Broccoli soup.

    (3)--Wonton soup

    People always seem to look at me funny when I say I love vegetable soup, nobody in my family really even likes vegetable soup. The funny thing is I'm not even a vegetarian.

    I really can't stand soup because of the broth. I had my jaws wired shut when I was 13 and all I ate 'drink' was broth of soups, ugh.. but when I'm feeling really crappy, I go with the normal chicken soup and take the broth out *yeah, I know, that's terrible* but I do have a favorite one of all and I can eat it whenever.

    It is called Videl soup. My best friend's mom made it and he decided to bring it over for me to try.. it was love at first taste. I don't know what makes it so special. The noodles are very thin, interesting flavoring, and no actual other stuff in it like peas, brocoli and so forth.

    Homemade tomato basil soup.  My mother bought 3 pounds of local, organic tomatoes, used organic half and half, fresh basil leaves, onions, vegetable bullion (and something else - can't remember) and this soup came out fan-freakin-tastic.  I absolutely loved it.  Yum!!

    I love chili. Homemade with tomatoes, chili beans, hamburger, green chiles, chili powder, onions, cumin, and tomato sauce. Put a bunch of cheese on top of it and have some crackers on the side.

    Old fashioned, old country PURE chicken soup-the kind my immigrant ancestors used to make.  The kind that you boil all day and never skim the fat off the top when you eat it.  It's has penicillin-like qualities in its organic state and it also has a soothing effect on your mood.  When you're sick, it rehydrates you and helps to restore your electrolyte imbalance if you are dehydrated!  Try it the next time you have a cold or a sore throat...you will feel much better:)

    My favorite soup is homemade potato soup.  My mom always gave us that when we were sick.  I did the same for my child, now she does the same for her child.  It is a comfort food that tells us we are going to be ok. When we eat the soup it tells us "you are loved so much I made you potato soup. (I now sure how to spell Potato)

    The best soup on the planet is the Lobster Bisque made by Joey, the chef at Beacon Hill Club in NJ. I haven't had it in about 20 years, but so far I have not found anything that even comes close. Yummmm....

    I love

    * chicken

    * vegetable

    * chicken and shark fin

    * minestrone

    I can make a mean chicken and ministrone but my mum makes the best vegetable (I can't seem to copy it) and I buy the shark fin.

    Avgolemono, It's a greek soup which translates into EGG & LEMON SOUP.  Yes I know that sounds perfectly dreadfull but in reality it's a homemade chicken soup with rice, confusing I agree ?

    All greeks are raised on the stuff and it's made during the cold months and whenever anybody's ill, we even made some daily for my uncle when he had heart surgery as no one trusted the NHS FOOD.

    Happily the Agvolemono aided his recovery (not sure if surgery did though).

    My favorite soup was from my Oma (grandmother) Potato Soup.  I remember growing up just walking into her house and smelling the soup and no matter how I was feeling everything just got better.

    I make the soup now and most of the time its because I want to just remember those past moments with her and I know when I am done I feel at peace.

    I passed on to my kids and I can not wait till I have grand-babies and hopefully in 30 years they will be here answering the same question.

    Well if I'm true to my roots it should be Leek and Potato or French Onion, but I love love love my own homemade cauliflower cheese soup - basically a potato and cauliflower boiled and pureed together with a dash of single cream so it's really thick and creamy, add some seasoning, then right before you're about it eat it, throw some cubes of cheese in the top so they just start to melt. Mmmmm!

    I like Chicken Noodle soup because it has those tiny bite-sized pieces of chicken in it and they taste soo good. I also like tomato soup which is odd for me since I don't eat real tomato vegetables. However, with some grilled cheese sandwiches, I can eat it up all day and never get full.
