Overcoming Temptation

I love the title of this group: "I Want to Be a Better Christian." It's what every Christian
should strive to be. My pastor once told me that if you're not moving forward you're moving backward, and that has proven to be so true in my life.
Lately overcoming tempations has been how I have been striving to be a better Christian: putting God's will above my own selfish, evil, desires. If I could get to the point where i truly have a reverencial fear of God ,If i could give up my own will in time of temptation, when my want to be the winner would die crucified with christ on the cross .If i could say say not my will but thy will be done . I will be able to overcome.

Thank you I will totally look into it.:) I wonder if it's available at the library?

I read a great book that you might like , Overcoming Sin and Temptation by John Owen, he deals with it in a way that I understood, you might as well :-)Amazing book. Sooo many good insights from Owens. Sometimes, well often I have to read the Bible verses a few times before the meaning sinks in, but wow what wisdom. It is cool too that you get sc<x>ripture references for a lot of what he writes. This book is like having a gold mine in your pocket, just gotta do a little digging and God will use it to bless you.
