Long Time Coming...

I have wanted to be a mortician ever since I was 14 years old. Of course, I got all kinds of dirty looks and tons of people trying to talk me out of it. For a while, I listened. I went into nursing, but still had the desire tugging at the back of my mind. I finally made up my mind. I've enrolled, but on the waiting list. Oh I can't wait for that call!!!

While you wait why don't you try to work at your local funeral home as an assistant or night attendant? Experience will prove worth while in this field :)

Congrats!!! I love the funeral directors that I work with! They are all wonderful people!!! I never thought I would be working in a funeral home, but here I am! :D Hope you get into school soon!!!

I'm just curious, may I ask why you wanted to go into such a field?

Its just something I've always been drawn to and fascinated by. Only recently I even found out it runs in my blood. I have relatives that have been in the funeral industry since around the civil war era. I am comfortable with death. I've been closely around it for years. I've been dealing with deceased in my current job multiple times a day. I'm not too squeamish, it doesn't bother me.

That's good. Better you take the job than someone who can't stand death, lol.

Lol very true! Im just waiting on winning the lottery so I can buy the mansion where I live, and convert it into a live-in funeral parlor! (Hey, I can dream!!)
