I am a teen and I know how a lot of teens feel. I am going to be very Honest with you guys. So first of all, my name is Janelle and I am currently 13 years old and 20 weeks pregnant. Even though this pregnancy wasnt planned, i kind of had the urge to be a mother and I am really excited to see my baby for the first time. I do get how other teens feel and I know that we think that We are ready for this but we are not. When I was 8 weeks pregnant I was excited and it felt perfect just like I dreamed of but know as I am getting step by step closer to my due date, I am regreting it. I barely have a belly but do you know what you have to face???? The humiliation, critics etc. trust me babies are cute and you guys think you are ready but you guys are not I am not even ready. I really regret getting pregnant and having sex in the first time with a boy that seems the perfect guy but probably he Is not. Sure, pregnancy and being a mom is a very wonderful thing but when you are married. If you still think you are ready for this, think about your youth and free time you have were you can spend time with frriends etc. and If you have a baby, does being with friends time is over now everything is about the baby not you. Another thing you should consider before doing this is how would this affect you in the future and how will it affect your baby. Please girls stay teens and enjoy your teens while you can't and forget Bout sex and having the urge to be a mom because if I Would give anything to go back and never had sex. Babies can be cute but they are a pain in the butt and If you still think you can take care of a baby why don't you take babysitting classes and become one? Best of luck to y'all

It is my understanding that no one is ever ready to be a parent until they are one, regardless of age. Age and maturity does nothing to prepare you for it, and apparently nothing can. Its something you figure out as you go along. You have learn from experiencing it the hard way. No child is born with an instruction manual, that is why parenting is so hard. You have all this responsibility and no one to tell you how to be a mother. Only you can decide that. It is no doubt going to be very challenging, all you can do is give parenting your best shot and hope it works out.

i hope everything turns out ok for you. getting pregnant so young is very difficult, but with love and care, i'm sure you'll be a great mother too.

I am really glad to hear you try to tell other teens that it is no rush and that you are not ready. I am 26 soon to be 27 with two daughters 3 and 6 years old. I am still not ready. Everyday I have to put on my mommy role. I love them to death but I wish I would of waited and chose a better father. The fact that I am a single working mom going to school as well makes it harder with no help. I wish you the best and hope that you take care of this one and get your life in order, meet you a great guy that can help you with it all before you have another. Take care.

  Thank you, I really appreciate it, and yes even though I am not ready, I am going to be the best mom I can be and would provide for my child. My parents support me a lot and so does my baby's father and family becuase they want me to get an education and get work at my dream job ( Marine Biology Institute in Coconut Island). Oh and also I am not planning on another child AT ALL I promised my self and my family this mistake wasn't going to happen again. And take care :)

Honey im so glad you shared your story. I was 18 when I first got pregnant, but God decided it wasn't time for me to be a mother. I was 22 when I had my daughter, and I wasn't ready then either. But it made me grow up into the WOMAN and MOTHER I am today. You are very young, and im glad that you realize that you aren't ready. No one is ever really ready at any age, and motherhood is the hardest job we as women must do. Nevertheless, it is the best job we will ever do.
