The Day I Knew

I had a friend from long ago and one day we were in her car and I was telling her a story. When the story ended my friend Virginia said to me in a very matter of fact tone of voice, "You know, I think you should become a writer, you talk in stories and I bet you any money you could write them."

Some kind of bell went off over my head and ever since that day, I have tried to become a writer. Am I writer now? Do I define myself as a writer? Yes. There is no other definition for what I am, I am a writer. I live and inhale writing during all my waking moments. I love to write.

When did you know?

I knew that I was a writer when I was 10 and I got a typewriter for Christmas.<br />
<br />
I sat down and started writing my life story...<br />
<br />
Then I stopped when i realized, "I haven't lived much."<br />
<br />
But now I've lived so much more and my journey as a professional writer has been sweet! I host my own blog, e-zine and freelance for several papers and magazines. It's a hungry lifestyle, living like an artist, hoping that some big magazine will give me a chance...but it's exciting every step of the way and I wouldn't trade it for any desk job in the world!<br />
<br />
All my best to you!
