I wish I was born American. I was once in America when I was 5. I quickly learned the language and picked up the accent, which I still have. I just love the language and the accent. I hope I can move to America one day.
Are you a British teenage girl? Do you use this American accent your acquired at age 5 in your day to day life? What do people think? Are you Irish?
My situation is unusual. I am a USA citizen by birth, who left 15 years ago. The move now looks permanent.
It is very easy to get permission to do uni studies in the USA. Paying the fees is another matter, but if you are bright enough, or good enough at certain sports, there are full scholarships. After 4+ years at uni, you can then make up your mind if you want to stay. Marrying a Yank will work, but you will have to jump through some hoops. Getting a USA job also works, but most employers will not hire someone who doesn't already have permission to work in the USA.
