I Love My Family!

I really feel that it is important to be close with my family. I feel as though my mother just looks down on me. And my sister doesn't like me much I feel because I have children and she can't. My father is not a type of man to show how he feels, unless he is drunk. My other sister lives in CA and is the only sweet one out of them all. My brother is a recovering drug addict and has mood swings. I just wish there was something i could do to bring us all together.

I have been out of the country several times when my 3 younger siblings were being raised. Since they were 6, 8 and 10 years younger than me, it was difficult to establish a solid friendship. Since we are raised in a warm family that communicates over little happenings,
I did at least have phone conversations once a month and letters came and were sent about
that frequently.
You can't become a therapist for dysfunctionality of your family. That would be like a brain surgeon doing his own surgery.

A few sessions with a counselor will give you direction and stability while you decide what you can and can not do.

Since it is very important to you to have someone in your family remain close, consider doing something regularly to keep up with your "sweeter" sister.
Good luck!

my family isn't that close eighter, I always compare my family with the family of my boyfriend and I see a big difference, I wish my family was closer.
