A Passion For Torah

When I was 13, I read a book called The Devil's Arithmetic, and ever since then I have been fascinated by Judaism.  My father and grandfather are also interested in it, and my great-great-grandmother was a Jew from Austria, but I was raised Southern Baptist not Jewish.  I am 24 now, and have been considering conversion for about four years maybe.  I love Torah and I love Jewish spirituality and theology!  I have recently begun speaking with a Rabbi about converting and have begun to attend Temple services.  I loved hearing the Hebrew language throughout services, and I really love that they don't pass a collection plate!!  I can't wait for the next Shabbat! L'Chaim!!

Wow, this is amazing. I'm the same. I've been to temple twice and I can hardly ever wait for the next Shabbat. At the moment, I don't even have to wait for that long because there are so many upcoming holidays. I'm actually at the stage that you talked about. But I just realized that your entry dates back to 2007. So you might no longer post on this website.<br />

Anyway, it's great to share thoughts on here.

MAZEL TOV! i am 13 and looking to convert to judaism, any advice?

I love exploring new religions. I once visited a Hindu temple and it completely blew every preconceived notion I had. That makes you feel so much more open to the world!
