Future Nurse

I am 20 years old and currently a junior in college studying social work. While it is my father's dream for me to graduate and eventually obtain my MSW to work for the government, I have always had other goals. I have wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl and I plan on beginning nursing school in the fall of 2014, after receiving my BSW. Unfortunately, not only am I already in debt from my first three years of school, I have a minimum of 5 more years of school left. My father is unemployed, only working on occasion as a fisherman because of how limited the seafood supply has been. He is in poor health and doing back breaking work for barely any money. My mother works in the cafeteria at a hospital and is working as many hours as she can to provide for us, even over 80 hours per week, while struggling in her studies for a degree in accounting.

I have a job within walking distance of where I live that provides 15 hours per week. I attend college six hours from home and because of the harsh winter conditions, my car with 2wd will not make it in the snow, so I am unable to find another job right now because I do not have appropriate transportation and cannot afford car payments.

Nursing school is known for being rigorous, often to the point where you are lucky to work ten hours per week. Because of this, I am trying to save as much as I can, however with my bills I am barely saving any money. Private loans will not lend me money because of my parents credit and because I have only had my job for 2 months. I am afraid that I will be unable to fulfill my dreams of being a pediatric oncology nurse.

If anyone could help me save for nursing school, even as little as a dollar would be greatly appreciated. This may be a shot in the dark, but I feel as if I have ran out of options.
