I Want to Feel Your Touch
My life partner passed away, she had a heart condition that the Dr's never picked up. She was the most gentle, loving, patient soul i ever knew. Sadly i only got to spend 3 years and two weeks with her. We were never apart except for 3 weeks in our intire lives! The one week i was away from her was when my mother, who lived 9hrs away was in hospital and i went to see her. While i was away my angel wrote this little poem for me and i would like to share it with you all.....
Like a second hand book, on a dusty shelf
In a dark and pokey shop, I waited for you.
People came and went, some picked me up
Leafed through my torn pages and put me down again,
Uninterested!
... Some glanced at my worn cover and looked at the book next door instead.
Some tucked me under their arm, headed for the cashier,
Only to be distracted by other titles…
But you….
You have brought me home, dusted me off
Are slowly mending my torn pages,
Straightening out the dog ears so that I might pride in place of your bookshelf.
There is so much to explore within my pages
So much to learn
So many things to do.
I cannot wait for you to curl up with me, to spend a lifetime discovering
The secrets that lie between my covers
And the love I have to share with you…
i love and miss you so much my Butterfly!
