My Sisters And Brothers!

Well, if you're wanting to meet true hippie folk, there is a commune in Summertown, Tenn. That welcomes visitors. My son & I went this summer and was a wonderful experience. Everything wasn't as I had expected, as some of the ideas they went into it with, proved to be unworkable. The original founder still lives there. The second generation is taking charge, and the third is in place.

Unfortunately, because of security, it is a 'gated' society, you'll need to be there before 5:00 PM when the visitor center closes.

Above all things, I left there with an appreciation for the people that lived there. Smiles and hello's everywhere.

As far as my own efforts, it is no longer in my hands, and if it's meant to be, it will be. If not, well, I still live here and am happy.

Hopefully as your journey in life continues, you'll run into some true hippies and their spirit will permeate in your heart.

One word of caution, beware the 'pseudo- hippie' who promotes an idea of what they 'think' a hippie is. Summertown is where they are if you want to experience it first hand.

My father has talked about starting one. I feel it would be amazing. A way to completely connect to everything pure and disconnect to everything negative. I would like to one dAy live on a commune but I fear that who I am with would never in a million years do something like that. It's so hard to find people who want to REALLY live life.
