And I Do

I have to find the good in everything. Why ? . . . 23 years ago I was in a severe automobile accident and have had to bare chronic pain ever since. When you have suffered with chronic pain after a long period of time it eventually works it's way into the limbic system of the brain that houses your emotions. Outcome: when I feel strong emotions especially negative ones it makes the pain even worse . . . alot worse. But it's changed my outlook on my view of the world . . . on circumstances . . . scituation . . . people . . . life itself . I do not have the luxury to be negative . . . to have a negative thought or opinion . . . not even in my vocabulary. Chronic pain is a very good teacher. It has taught me to be a better more happier person. And that is the good I find in it. The good that I find in everything.

I saw this on one of MasterLee's stories and I just had to share . . . who doesn't love a good laugh . . . this beats all . . . and words to live by . . . lol . . . enjoy . . .

I know what you are talking about here. My heart goes out to you! I too have been in a few(5) major accidents ..I live with pain each day, and have learned compassion for people and animals. I can see it in their eyes...I meditate and my mind-spirit can leave my body... you have to know how outrageous this type of pain is. That's why I feel a kindred spirit with you :) pray you feel better! hugs! and Like Mendy some childhood past is full of pain... We still enjoy life find the good. And are thankful-there is always someone worse off then us sadly... thank you for your story! may 2013 get better for both of us and others that suffer :) and animals...

Dear Friend,

It does keep us focused on the good things in life and looking toward the good in a bad situation.

I remember words that Joni Erickson-Tada said when she had her accident. When a friend told her that one inch lower and she would have been able to walk. Yes, but one inch higher and I would not be here.

I have suffered much at the hands of some foster parents; only a child who has been abused knows that pain. We are not talking a simple spanking but beatings, and unusual punishment resulting in humiliation.

Sometimes I wanted to hate those people but something within me would not let me do that. I do not know if you are a Christian or not. I do know this that you are a good person.

Some people that have experienced what we have experienced turns bitter toward others and life its self. But even in the midst of your present circumstances you look for the good in others and in circumstances.

This is an inspiration to me. I needed to show that I too had experience pain so that you would know that I can relate to you. Your pain is much physical and sometimes emotional. I live with emotional almost every day.

I wanted to do something to try to help others; so I found this site where I could try to show love and understanding to others. To uplift our young people and to encourage those I come in contact with.

I came to minister to you but you ministered to me while I have been here. I thank you my special friend!!!!!
Pastor Jim

Dear Pastor Jim,

Your thoughtful words, your sharing, and the time you gave me to write them bring misty eyes of love, understanding, joy, and appreciation. Thank you for that and all the good that you do for others my special friend.

Great story, thank you for sharing that. You are very strong.

I have chronic back pains. Still try to smile. I've found the cortisone shots work much better though.

yeah I took that route too . . . got the shots every month for a year . . . they caused in me a very rare eye condition called postior polymorphous cornial distrophy and will eventually need a cornia transplant . . . thank you for your comment.
