Holiday Engagement Envy

I told my boyfriend not to get me anything for Christmas unless it's a ring because that's the only thing I want. I hate getting my hopes and thinking it will happen ..I got my hopes up on my birthday two years ago because he had this huge surprise planned for me to take me out of town I really thought it was going to happen my hopes were so high and when it didn't happen I was crushed. Engagment and weddings is all I can think about it surrounds me! Everyone I k or is engaged or married.

I'd be upset if people asked why it hasn't happened. There's no time limit, and it can be ruined if it's rushed. Still, I'd be furious. How dare they say such hurtful things. It's not like it's happened to me, but I'd be a little distressed.

This holiday season I think it may just be happening but I don't wanna jinx it. He said before the end of the year, so I dunno. Maybe? We have zero problems, we're happy, and him and I have discussed it (because I was stressed and confused) and he resolved my worries a little by telling me sooner rather than later he will propose. It's just sometimes we worry it won't at all.

It isn't just about women, men get it too. I've been with my sweetie for many years. She and I are finally getting married. All I can say is that it happens when it needs to happen. Truly good things come to those who wait. I'm proof that it was worth the wait until she was ready.

I have been with my other half for 4 years we have talked about getting engaged and we both want to its just doing it... at the moment we live with his parents as he was made redundant...we were going to get enraged last year but then we moved home to an expensive city due to his job and couldn't afford the ring.



Now its not the money its the fact we dont want to start this new phase while dependant on his parents....



so we have to wait again.......its upsetting... I know it is coming its just the wait.......I dont know if we will be able to do it this year or the next etc.... sigh....



when family bring it up at xmas I joke that I am waiting for him to get in gear it soon stops it lol
