Self Help Income

I have set up an office in one bedroom. It is 100 percent deevoted to my pursuit of income.

My daughter's room is next to it and she has dedicated a port of her room to pursuit of income.

We both use the computer. My use is for communication with the three offices for which I do "per diam" work. Her use is for being a travel agent.

She pays her little bills while going through school.

We both enjoy being able to stop for a few minutes to eat, watch a program, go out to shop, or if feeling bad, lay down for awhile.

I like that I can have a few days off any time, this works out with my spouse's schedule.

On line work can be very good.

Yes, maybe there is a way to use the internet to catch them at their own game but we would have to change the laws so that prosecution can take place in any of the countries that theis stuff happened.
That's what I need to do tonight - buy out a jerk or two. LOL

So, Moxi, we should figure out a way to buy out a lot of the jerks!!! LOL.

Even if the laws changed - people who think up scams will think of a way to get around the new law. I once got a burglar alarm for my house because the next door neighbor used to shoplift at my house whenever he needed anything. Within a day, he figured out the alarm and by the time I got home, my new burglar alarm was no longer working. I did get him once though - he used to come in thru the window over my dryer - I planted a bucket of paint so that it got him when he crawled in. That did my heart so much good. I finally bought his house and tore it down - that also felt good.

So sorry about your friend's mom!
I wish there was something we cold do against these
frauds.
Maybe we should get the laws changed.
Hum...I wonder...
Yes, the internet is a dangerous place when it comes to scams and swindles. My friend's mother got hooked into the Nigerian thing and believed it right up to the time she went to jail. This woman was a businesswoman for many years - I'm wondering if she snapped or what. She sold all of her jewelry, some collector cars the family owned and depleted the bank accounts. She believed she was going to receive millions.

THE WHOLE DAMN STORY OF STUPIDITY

My crazy naive daughter got into two on line businesses that cost her over 15,000 dollars.

Frst some woman in England said she had a lot of money and wanted to give in to someone deserving. She had a lot of money in the States and neeed to get it released so that she could have an operation, in England where she lives. All my daughter had to do was receive checks from her and place them into a bank here and every so often after this was done, she would get a payment for it. Crazy girl almost go into this.

BUT she did get into this other one:

Someone sent her a check for something she was selling on line. It was a traveler's check. I got wind of it AND that the check ws coming by regular mail. I tld her to e mail the person and tell them that they did not follow the agreement and that thesale and purchase were terminated.

Seeral days later, the stupid check did arrive and without telling me, whe went to the bank wehre they figured out the check was BOGUS. They called the police, who detained my daugher for a logn time while they tried to determind if SHE WAS THE BAD GUY or not!!!
I was and still am furious with her.

They were able to trace all her e mail andphone conversations and figured that she was merely DUPED but what a terrifying situation PLUS.....She had been living with us for the last 8 months PRIMARLILY to get her self back together financially after the divorce.

She now owes 15,000 on her creit cards for money she sent to a THIRD on line hoax. Some out of country peoplepromised her thousands of dollars if she would send them money for something.

The police said there is nothing she can do to get her m oney back. The police are going to make televised announcements about the scam to warn the public.

I am hopping, hot, rediculously angry. If I could join the FBI to help get rid of these dogs, I would.
A few of us on the EP team just got back from the BlogHer Conference in Chicago which had about 800 women who blog or are really active on the internet giving talks, discussions, etc. One of the main topics we addressed (or heard about) was how to monetize a website or blog and how to be a work-at-home mom through the tools of the internet. One woman, Wendy Piersal, has a site called emomsathome.com and her mission is to give women the tools and inspiration to work at home (if they want) and bring in an income that way. You should check it out if you have a chance. Wendy is also a HUGE supporter of EP, so if you sent her a note and said you are on the site I think she would be very responsive!

I have a daughter a step daughter who makes most of her living with the computer. I'll ask her a few questions, if anything would give you some direction, I'll send it to you.

If you do not hear from me by this weekend, send another note to me.

I sometimes get lost on the experience project and can't get back to people.

Just learning and good luck,
I'm happy for you getting to work on the net. I've been looking and looking but haven't found anything yet. I'm a good typist and proofreader/copywriter.
